Zoning Commission minutes 5/13/09

 

On June 13, 2009 the Newbury Township Zoning Commission (ZC) held a special meeting in the upstairs meeting room of Newbury Town Hall to review and finalize the previously agreed upon revisions and vote on the Amendment 2009-1. Alice Munn called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. with Bill Skomrock Sr., Jerry Hudak, Lou Tomsic, Bob Ruckstuhl, Judd Douglas and Carolyn Paschke present.  The minutes of the May 27, 2009 were approved and signed.

 

Karen Endres explained the changes in definitions, Home Occupations separated into two tiers; Class One for ZI approval & Class Two for BZA approval, approval of temporary offices, conditions to catastrophic events, licensed residential facilities within 1 mile and others to correct grammar, consistency et al.

 

Discussion continued regarding specific wording of several issues. Bob agreed to incorporate all revisions for final version of Amendment 2009-1 to be submitted to the Trustees who would conduct a Public Hearing for amendment acceptance, modification or rejection.  Alice Munn reminded the group that they had 30 days from the May 27, 2009 Public Hearing to vote on this amendment or the process would have to begin anew.

 

Alice asked it there were any more questions; with none offered she called for a motion.  Carolyn Paschke moved to accept Amendment 2009-1 as revised; Lou Tomsic seconded the motion.  A roll call vote followed:

The motion carried, the amendment was approved.

 

Alice suggested that the June meeting be cancelled and the group return with new energy to tackle the electronic signs topic for the July 22, 2009 meeting.  All members were in agreement.

 

The Zoning Commission meeting adjourned at 10:50 a.m.
