Trustees meeting May 1, 2013

The regular meeting of the Board of Township Trustees, Newbury Township was called to order at 7:30 p.m., May 1, 2013, with Mr. Quigley, Ms. Blair and Mr. Skomrock present.

Minutes of the April 17, 2013 meeting were approved with a motion by Ms. Blair, 2nd by Mr. Quigley, and a unanimous affirmative vote by all.  Mr. Skomrock abstained due to absence at this meeting

Ms. Mansfield reported that UAN is replacing the computers this year and will let everyone know when there are more details.

Mr. Fagan reported for the Fire Department 193 calls for the year, 48 calls in April.

Mr. Skomrock reported that the front steps needed some repair, he will ask Mr. Zimperman if they can do it, if not he will contact Ironman Contractors for repair.  He also reported that clean up day will be June 1 and the senior pickup on the following Monday and Tuesday.

Mr. Quigley had an applicant for the alternate position for the BZA and Mr. Skomrock had talked to someone interested also.  They will speak to the applicants May 15th at 7:00 PM.

Mr. Quigley discussed the summer hours for the Road Department. Ms. Mansfield will check further on the hours for Friday and Saturday.

Mr. Quigley reported a couple of resumes for the administrative position; the township will run the ad again and then do interviews.

Mr. Quigley spoke about a letter he got from the county on a residence on Lakeside.  The county has declared it unsafe.

Ms. Blair discussed needing a notary and Ms. Hrabak said she would get one.  She also indicated that Patsy was inquiring about spring cleaning.  Ms. Blair will contact her for a quote for the cleaning but not the carpet cleaning.

Ms. Zimperman, cemetery sexton, reported 3 burials in April.

Mr. Quigley indicated he spoke to the Park Board.  They talked about a possible levy and the need for field #5.  He also spoke with the Rec Board on field #5.  He is going to meet with them again for more discussion on these topics.  They also discussed the proposed drive that was to run across the school property; the trustees believe the township should put the access road on township property not school property.

Ms. Blair discussed Fairmount Minerals contribution for this year and our wish list.  Mr. Quigley thought  that if they could do the engineering survey on Oberland Park for the water runoff, this  would be a big help.  The second choice would be to run power back to the pavilion.
