Trustee Minutes 04/20/2016

The regularly scheduled meeting of Newbury Township Trustees was called to order at 7:00 p.m., April 20, 2016, with Glen Quigley, Bill Skomrock, Jr. and Jan Blair present.  

 

The minutes of the special meeting of March 16 and regular meeting of April 6, 2016, were approved by a motion from Mr. Skomrock 2nd by Ms. Blair and a unanimous affirmative vote by all.

 

Ms. Blair made a motion to wave fees through the BZA to Ken Fagan, 2nd by Bill Skomrock and a unanimous affirmative vote by all.

 

Mr. Skomrock made a request for Resolution 20160420 for the approval to execute and file an application with the OH Department of Natural Resources 2nd by Ms. Blair and a unanimous affirmative vote by all.

 

Mr. Quigley discussed the pending approval of the tax exempt status of the revised parcels and the ironman lease.  He is still working on getting information on the exempt status.

 

Mr. Quigley presented drawings of the Bicentennial flag for the township celebration.

 

Mr. Quigley discussed the Dollar General store.  Dollar General would like to put the building with little set back.  They will need to go in front of the BZA for permits.

 

Mr. Quigley discussed Geothermal business.  They wanted to know if they could sub lease the current property to someone like a landscaper.  Mr. Quigley indicated that the decision is with the owner of the property and zoning.

 

Mr. Skomrock discussed the possible addition to the road department building.  The tentative size is 90 x 60, to be located between the salt shed and the existing building.  They are waiting for a plot map from the county for building placement.  The ad for the new applicants will be in the Maple Leaf. 

 

Mr. Skomrock presented a letter he received from Newbury Schools Transportations Kim Sass, saying what a great job our road department does in the winter with the roads.
