OBERLAND PARK DEVELOPMENT

Ball field:

Trustees signed a contract with Ziegler Earthworks to do the ditching, can get it done in one day. Glen in contact with Amy from watershed partners about starting a community business group with Doug Ralston to raise money to finish ball field. Roger has an investor who will pay for a dugout if trustees will commit to paying for the remainder. Roger asked about stipulations in acquiring money and giving naming rights. Glen and Wayne will go to the next Rec board meeting. Projects in order of priority recommended:

1: Spend the money to get the backstop up, then rec board may commit to finishing the field. Roger to check on cost of concrete for backstop. Cost estimate $2500. Need to go to Doug Ule first to make proposal and let him take to Rec board as president.

2: Work on getting power to entrance rock and back to shelter for security as requested by sheriff’s office. Les is willing to pay for ½ of running power so he can use in pumping his sap out of the woods. Cost to run power estimated at $7,400.  Still hoping to get $1,000 as previously proposed by Kiwanis for lighting; trustees to cover the remainder.

Access drive:  Doug Ule has not gotten to the driveway extension yet.

Fairmont Minerals: Due to economic conditions there will be no money available from Fairmont Minerals this year..

Parking Lot: The pile of stone in the parking lot is to fill in pot holes in the driveway. Need to address the large dirt pile and what to do with the topsoil. Storm Water Management: Glen to work on the appeal process now that summer is almost over and his commitments are lessening.

Goose Hunting:

Don Pashke has requested another hunting permit from the trustees. Goose season starts September 1st.  Recommend closing the park on a Saturday evening, then hunt on Sunday so it will not interfere with students when school starts.

Scout Projects:

Cemetery fence was hit by a car and will need to be repaired before scouts can paint. it

Grange Park:

Glen talked to Sunrise about the Grange Park being for sale. There are some drainage issues Rte 87 and Auburn Corner: Glen would like a recommendation on how to use the property.
