Meeting Minutes

March 12, 2015, Newbury Town Hall

Present: Judy Barnhart, Mark Fritch,  Wayne Mansfield , Roger Mezak, ,  Les Ober, Jim Stefancin

Guests: boy scout Mike Fenstermaker and his mother Heather, trustee Glen Quigley

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m.

 

Minutes of February meeting read and approved.

 

 

Oberland Park

 

Eagle Scout Project: Mike talked to some nurseries to get prices on larger trees. Many nurseries do not have trees in yet, due in mid  April,one will give discount for Eagle Scout project. Prices ranged from $50-$300 trees grow about 1 foot per year. Decision to go with  purchasing 5 foot trees. Les will get prices from someone he knows. Glen will talk to Impalliti if they can get trees If anyone needs to contact Mike about his project his email is mfenstermaker@yahoo.com. Mike’s mother Heather is still considering a park board position and will let Glen know.

 

At the March 18th trustee meeting, Anita Stocker will be there giving a presentation on tax abatement for townships to attract businesses, felt may cause businesses to leave. Everyone is invited to attend.

 

 

Rt. 87 and Auburn Corner/Veterans Park

Can’t get driveway permit until property staked out. cost for Gazebo estimated to be $40-45,000. Trustees have the money and a plan, have a signed contract from the contractor to be done by Memorial Day. Jan is in contact with David Joyce who is committed to helping acquire a tank or other military vehicle. Glen had revised plans showing a cement floor and minor corrections. Outside of gazebo will have tongue and groove siding and a green roof. Cupola will have windows with 2 panes per side Glen to get copy of parking lot plans to Mark so he can get an estimate.

 

Glen and Wayne tried to go to the Rec board meeting but it was cancelled

 

Next regular meeting: April 9th.
