OBERLAND PARK

Federal Grant

*Entrance sign:

-Mark provided estimate to trustees at last night’s meeting for sandstone rock approximately 9 ft wide x 8 foot high, weighing 9 tons for $738, with sandblasting on two sides for $1100. Trustees OK’d getting two sides engraved so it can be placed perpendicular to the road so is visible from both directions.

-Mark provided mock-up of lettering with large “O” and “D” on ends of Oberland approximately 12” high with middle letters 10-11” high. “Newbury Township” to be approx 4-5” above, with “Park” below 6-7” high. A stencil will be made before carving.

-David checked with County on grant RFP requirements. Do not need RFP for each item (purchase of stone, engraving, concrete footer and crane rental) as each does not exceed $2500.

-Separate metal sign with park hours and usage permit.

-Mark will make presentation to trustees at July 1st meeting with specifications on cost for each part for approval.

-Roger to check to see if footer will require engineering. Will inform park board and trustees if cost is over $200. Will see if Township can dig footer hole

*Grading and Seeding of Front 5 Acres

-Trustees made an agreement with Wheeler over the winter to come back in May to redo field as field is not level and grass did not come in very well. Wheeler ran a rock hound to pick up rocks and disked grass in early June but not ready for planting.

-Roger provided updated “As-Built” topographic survey dated June 9 done by Swartz Land Surveying. Initial grading by Trushel was done correctly. Final grading by Wheeler not done with laser guided equipment so not correct. Roger checked with David Fry who did Browns field to see if he could give specs on the needed laser grading. Roger motioned to spend up to $5000 on laser grading and prep work (getting rid of grass) with approval of township trustees, for reseeding in the fall. Seconded by Susan. Approved.

GRANGE PARK

Tony Lupica has contacted Les, Roger and Jodie about adding property to and developing Grange Park. Was asked to make a presentation to Park Board for his ideas to be considered but has not done so as yet. Was not at trustee meeting last night.

Next regular meeting: Thursday, July 16, 7:30 p.m. at Newbury Town Hall
